I know this sounds weird but hear me out.. I'm driving in from out-of-town and i will need a place to park. However im not very familiar with parking downtown..mainly cause i rarely go downtown. Is there a parkade nearby? Or is parking on the street free on weekends? Cause it would suck having to go feed a meter every hour and a half lol

There is a parkade under the convention centre, which is where I've parked the last few years. There is also a parkade under the Delta, and various other parkades or surface lots within a five minute walk. Not sure about street parking these days, it's been ages since I've had to do that...

I parked on the street my first 2 years. If you can find a spot it's free after 6pm on Friday and if I remember correctly it's free all Saturady and Sunday. I used to throw in a tonnie and 4pm on Friday and leave it until I left Sunday *hahahahaha* but I had a crappy car, so I would recommend using the parkade if you have the money!

How much money are the underground parkades? I'm not really comfortable with parking on the street even if it's free D: But I'm staying at the Delta and it's like $15 a day.

Although the con is over, just as future reference. We parked in the Delta area underground on Friday around 12:30p and left Sunday around 5p. Didn't move the car those three days and parking cost us $37. The lady from the Delta actually told us it's cheaper to cash out with the parade cashier then to pay through the Delta.

If you have a room at the Delta, parking is $15 a day, and it's good until 6 p.m. on the day you check out. So if you (or a friend) has a room, you can get a pass for your car that might be cheaper than hourly parking at either the Delta or Convention Center. It's unlimited in/ out privileges. My BF used it this year.

Oh, fantastic! I'll remember that if I need a place to park (if I use a vehicle).
