I've recently decided that I actually want to BUY some anime...

is there a noticeable difference in quality between blu ray and dvd?

I hear nice things about other movies in blu ray being high definition, but I don't know if it's the same for anime...

Qualitywise, blu ray is the way to go,whether its movies or anime.sharper,crisper,ect. of course, thats only assuming you also own a high def tv.if you do,blu ray is the way to go.otherwise, stick to dvds

alexander has it down. You just have to be smart about what you are buying. because some of the Blu ray set are just up converted dvd encoding. but it will still look better than a dvd that is being up converted on a blu ray player.

even if you don't have a HDTV, you'd still see the difference.
